Hi!! My name is Hannan and I'm a freelance photographer based in Austin, TX currently pursuing degrees in Journalism and Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin. In addition to my own photography, I am also a staff photographer at the Daily Texan - the newspaper at The University of Texas.
I grew up in Nairobi, Kenya, and was introduced to photography early on in my childhood as a way to capture memories of my family and I while on game drives in the Masai Mara. Wildlife photography played a significant role in teaching me the importance of balance. Balancing emotion and action, colors and textures, as well as timing movement, have by far been the most important skills that have been integral in the evolution of my craft. I quickly noticed similarities between wildlife and sports photography due to the common reliance on balance and timing. Over the last few years, I've experimented with new techniques and equipment to explore different types of photography; photojournalism, sports, and portraiture.
